New data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics today shows Australia's gender pay gap is at a record low of 11.5% - the lowest it's ever been.
What this means: Australian women working full-time are now earning around $255 a week more, on average, than when we came to government in 2022.
This isn't happening by accident. As Australia's first majority women government, we've taken a whole of government approach to closing the pay gap through:
Better wages in the care economy
Stronger workplace laws
Banning pay secrecy clauses
Fee-free TAFE
Women's workforce participation has also hit a record high of 63.5%. This means more women are working more hours.
We know there's still more work to do, but today's results show that when you have a government that cares and delivers, we can make real progress for Australian women.
